Coventry Township Zoning Commission

The Coventry Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Coventry Township Hall, 68 Portage Lakes Dr., Coventry Township, OH 44319, to consider the following zoning map amendment applications/text revisions:
Jonathan Riley & Greg Myers, 2454 Country Club Dr., Uniontown, OH 44685-
Requesting a change in zoning classification for 2910 S Main St. (and adjacent parcel #1900518), Coventry Township, OH 44319. Located on the west side of S Main St., parcel#1900514 contains 4.22 acres of land and was previously used as a public school. Parcel #1900518 contains 1.33 acres of land and is adjacent to the former school, southwest of the intersection of S Main and E Long Lake Blvd. The request involves the re-zoning of property currently zoned both B-2 Limited/Local Business and R-1 Residential to C/I Commercial-Industrial. The proposed use of the property is indoor climate-controlled storage. The Zoning Commission held an initial public hearing on this request on December 21st, 2021. The Summit County Planning Commission heard the request on March 31st. The Zoning Commission will consider the recommendations of the Summit County Planning Commission at this public hearing before final action from the Coventry Township Board of Trustees.
Steven Morris, 4315 W 196th St., Fairview Park, OH 44126- Requesting a change in zoning classification for Summit County Parcels #1909647 & 1907510 (Coventry Township, OH 44319). Located on the west side of S Main St. and south of Interstate 277, parcel #1909647 contains 4.36 acres of land and parcel #1907510 contains 5.14 acres of land. Both parcels are currently vacant. The request involves the rezoning of property currently zoned both B-3 General Business to C/I Commercial Industrial. The proposed use of the property is flex space and self-storage space. The Zoning Commission held an initial public hearing on this request on February 15th, 2022. The Summit County Planning Commission heard the request on March 31st. The Zoning Commission will consider the recommendations of the Summit County Planning Commission at this public hearing before final action from the Coventry Township Board of Trustees.
Don Boyer, 530 Portage Lakes Dr., Coventry Township, OH 44319: Requesting a change in zoning classification for 2934 & 2940 S Main St (parcels #1909823, #1909824) Coventry Township, OH 44319. Located directly west of the S Main St. and Kirby Dr. intersection, parcels #1909823 and #1909824 contain 1.66 and 1.32 acres of land, respectively. Both parcels are zoned both B-2 Limited/Local Business for approximately 270’ west of S Main St. The remaining areas are zoned R-1 Residential. The current use is a residential dwelling, and a business named United Fleet Services. The request is to re-zone the parcels to C/I Commercial-Industrial. The proposal involves the construction of storage/contractor flex space. The zoning commission will review the request at this initial public hearing before seeking the recommendation of Summit County Planning Commission.

The Zoning Commission will also consider additions to the zoning resolution involving commercial lighting.
