The Coventry Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Coventry Township Community Center, 335 E Willowview Dr., Coventry Township, OH 44319, to consider the following requests:
- 2024-06: Micah Riley, 6572 Regal Woods Dr., Hudson, OH 44236
Requesting a setback variance for a short-term rental. This property is located in a R-3 Residence District at 697 State Mill, Akron, OH 44319 Parcel #1908382 and is a lot of record with a single-family home on the property. The variance is for 257’ short of the minimum required 300’-0” setback from another existing permitted short-term rental. The setback between short-term rentals would be 43’. (Article 28.00, Section 28.04 A).
- 2024-07: JK IV Enterprises LLC, 4057 St. Edmund Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44718
Requesting a setback variance for a short-term rental. This property is located in a R-1 Residence District at 3560 ½ Portage Point, Akron, OH 44319 Parcel #1900508 and is a lot of record with a single-family home on the property. The variance is for 179’ short of the minimum required 300’-0” setback from another existing permitted short-term rental. The setback between short-term rentals would be 121’. (Article 28.00, Section 28.04 A). This variance request also includes an appeal of the March 12, 2024 decision denying the short-term rental application.
- 2024-08: Curtiss Robinson, 3599 S. Turkeyfoot Rd., Akron, OH 44319
Requesting four variances for a 1,600 square foot detached garage. This property is located in a R-3 Residence District at 3599 S Turkeyfoot Rd., Akron, OH 44319 Parcel #1908565 and is considered non-conforming due to two separate single-family homes being on one parcel. The first variance requested is to extend and/or enlarge the non-conformance of the property by constructing a detached garage. (Article 24.00, Section 24.03). The second variance requested is for 832 square feet over the maximum allowed of 768 square feet for a total of 1,600 square feet in detached garages. (Article 8.00, Section 8.03 H). The third variance requested is for 625 square feet over the maximum allowed 30% of the required rear yard which is 975 square feet. (Article 8.00, Section 8.03 I). The fourth variance requested is for 7’-0” in height over the maximum allowed of 15’-0” for a total of 22’-0” in height. (Article 8.00, Section 8.02). - 2024-09: Nick Thomas, 2989 N. Turkeyfoot Rd., Akron, OH 44319
Requesting two variances for a 1,200 square foot detached garage. This property is located in a R-1 Residence District at 2989 N Turkeyfoot Rd., Akron, OH 44319 Parcel #1908167 and is a single-family home. The first variance requested is for 432 square feet over the maximum allowed of 768 square feet for a total of 1,200 square feet in detached garages. (Article 6.00, Section 6.03 H). The second variance requested is for 0’-6” in height over the maximum allowed of 15’-0” for a total of 15’-6” in height. (Article 6.00, Section 6.02).
