Coventry Township Board of Zoning Appeals

The Coventry Township Board of Zoning Appeals, 68 Portage Lakes Drive, Coventry Township, Ohio, 44319, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, at 6:00 PM VIA ZOOM, a web-based video teleconferencing provider, to consider the following requests:
- 2021-02 Anthony Kucia, Cleveland Custom Builders, 12025 Schrieber Rd., Valley View OH, 44125: Requesting a front setback variance of 42 feet from the permitted 60 feet and a sideline setback variance of 11.25 feet from the permitted 15 feet for a residential addition. Also requesting rear setback variance of 44 feet to locate an attached deck, not to be enclosed, 0.94 feet from the property line for a residential addition for a property in a R-1 zoning district located at 221 Rohner Dr., Akron OH 44319. The overhang of the proposed addition is 5 feet and extends onto a portion of the deck. A request for this address was tabled in January and the plans have been revised. (Article 6, Sections 6.03 A, C and E).
- 2021-03 Larry Knight, Connect Church, 578 Killian Rd., Coventry Township, OH 44319: Requesting a conditional use permit to construct a 80’x110’ youth center for the Connect Church located in an R-1 zoning district at 578 Killian Rd., Akron, OH 44319. A variance was granted for this use in 2019 but has since expired. (Article 6, Section 6.01B3).
- 2021-04 Don Boyer, 530 PLD LLC, DBA Pick’s, 530 Portage Lakes Dr., Coventry Township, OH 44319: Requesting a renewal of a conditional use permit to operate a bar, restaurant, and banquet center on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of Pick’s Restaurant. The applicant is also requesting a renewal of a conditional use permit for outside dining and entertainment for Pick’s Restaurant, located in a B-2 zoning district at 530 Portage Lakes Dr., Akron, OH 44319. A renewal of these conditional use permits was granted at the March 2020 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting. (Article 3.00, Sections 3.06-3.09; Article 11.00, Section 11.01.B, Article 23, Section 23.20).
